This Dark Endeavor Movie
Summit Entertainment is set to develop This Dark Endeavor, a fantasy movie based on "This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein", a novel written by Kenneth Oppel that will be published this Summer (Summit preemptively bought the movie rights). The story is basically yet another take on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Screentwriter Jacob Estes is in charge of the script, and Director Matt Reeves (who brought us Cloverfield) will helm the project. There's no official release date yet.
Plot:
"Victor Frankenstein's twin brother, Konrad, falls gravely ill, leading Victor to seek out a mysterious old alchemist to help him produce the Elixir of Life, a fabled serum that will bestow the drinker with perpetual health. Faced with the unthinkable outcome of losing his brother, and aided by his best friend Elizabeth (whose relationship with both brothers grows increasingly complicated), Victor sets out on a quest for the three ingredients needed to save Konrad's life."
I'm not much excited about yet a new take on Frankenstein. But since Director Matt Reeves is involved in the project, I guess it's worth following the development of this film. It could turn out to be a quite entertaining movie with the right cast.
Anyway, more details about the movie This Dark Endeavor soon!
